Judy Garland Blackwell Lewis, 72, of Bardstown, passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023, at her residence. She was born Feb. 24, 1950, in Columbia, and was a member of Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Zion of Bloomfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Butch" William Lewis Jr.; her parents, Robert and Ruth Blackwell; a brother, Bob Blackwell Jr.; and a sister, Ruth Ann Blackwell.
She is survived by four children, Germaine Weathers of Louisville, Bentoria Richardson of Atlanta, Benny Richardson Jr. of Louisville, and Marie Fulton of Virginia; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five brothers, Charlie Blackwell, Ronnie Blackwell, Dale Blackwell, Keith Blackwell and Kelly Blackwell; three sisters, Rannie Blackwell, Marilyn Blackwell and Sharon Brown; an aunt, Lucille Graves; longtime friend, Ala Dean Walkup; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Lebanon National Cemetery on Monday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Harriet McElvaney, the Rev. Erich Shumake and the Rev. Rivers C. Sumpter will officiate.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at the funeral home.
