Juan de Bourbon-Soissons ( La Fere , 6 of July of 1528 - San Quintin , October of August of 1557 ) was a French nobleman, Count de Soissons , son of Carlos IV of Bourbon and Francisca de Alencon . Therefore, he was a blood prince through the House of Bourbon , to which his father belonged and the House of Valois , to which his mother belonged.
Biography
He was the eleventh son of Carlos , Duke of Bourbon and Vendôme, and of Francisca , Duchess of Alençon and Countess of Perche. His mother was a descendant of Carlos II of Alençon , younger brother of King Felipe VI of France .
In 1546 , on the death of his grandmother Marie of Luxembourg , he inherited the title of Count of Soissons . That same year, he also inherited the title of Count of Enghien when his older brother Francisco died prematurely at the age of 27.
In 1557 , he became Duke of Estouteville when he married his cousin Maria de Bourbon-Saint-Pol , daughter of his uncle Francisco I de Saint-Pol . From this union there were no descendants and his possessions passed into the hands of his younger brother Luis .
He died that same year at the Battle of San Quentin .
