I enjoyed volunteering with Richard (and Joyce) over the years at the Graffiti House in Brandy Station.  Richard always had an interesting story as he greeted the guests.   He was a valuable source of information on the history of this area.  My wife Virginia and I send our thoughts and prayers to Joyce.  Don Carlson

Joyce , I am so sorry to hear about Rich’s passing. He always made me laugh with  his stories at  school!  Thinking of you and your family now at this sad time..😢😢

My sympathy to Joyce and family for the loss of Rich.  Rich was a substitute teacher for my elementary class in Culpeper many times.  He was concerned about a troubled child in my classroom and always asked about this child whenever I happened to have a conversation with him.  Rich also took indigent children Christmas shopping as part of a county program.   When Monday came around, I would hear all about Mr. Goff and the shopping trip from the children he  befriended.  This was a gift a gift of kindness and care from Rich. 

To Joyce and family, I wish to extend my sincerest sympathy to the family on the loss of Richard. I remember when he would stop by our house on occasion to talk about various things. He was a gentle, kind person. God bless your family during this difficult time.  Sincerely, Denise Smith and family
