Jonah Hill keeps it casual in a yellow plaid shirt and olive trousers as he steps out to go shopping in Malibu

Jonah Hill cut a laidback figure as he stepped out for a spot of shopping in Malibu, California, on Wednesday.

The actor, 39, kept it casual in a yellow plaid shirt and cropped olive trousers as he browsed for glasses during his shopping trip.

He kept comfortable in a pair of black padded boots and styled his platinum locks in a natural style for the outing.

The Stutz filmmaker sported a long beard and framed his face with a pair of brown glasses as he stepped out of a shop.

He accessorised his stylish look with a silver watch and was seen cleaning his glasses as he strolled down the street.

It comes after Jonah spoke openly about his mental health, revealing he had deleted all of his social media and decided not to promote his roles or films anymore

He recently released a film Stutz, which features Jonah and his therapist talking about his mental health and 20-year struggle with anxiety.

'Through this journey of self-discovery within the film, I have come to the understanding that I have spent nearly 20 years experiencing anxiety attacks, which are exacerbated by media appearances and public facing events,' he wrote in an open letter last summer.

'You won't see me out there promoting this film, or any of my upcoming films, while I take this important step to protect myself,' he continued.

'If I made myself sicker by going out there and promoting it, I wouldn't be acting true to myself or to the film.'

He added: 'I usually cringe at letters or statements like this but I understand that I am of the privileged few who can afford to take time off. I won't lose my job while working on my anxiety.

'With this letter and with Stutz, I'm hoping to make it more normal for people to talk and act on this stuff. So they can take steps towards feeling better and so that the people in their lives might understand their issues more clearly,' he wrote.

Jonah also recently starred in rom-com You People, which he co-wrote, and he is said to have had a 'fake kiss' with co-star Lauren London created by CGI in the film.

Their comedian co-star Andrew Shulz relayed the anecdote on The Brilliant Idiots, the podcast he co-hosts with Charlamagne Tha God.

'I don't even know if I should share this s*** but the final scene, they don't even kiss. It's CGI,' Andrew, 39, said to an incredulous response from Charlamagne.

'Swear to God, son. I'm there, I'm watching the wedding and I see them going for the kiss and their faces stop like this far,' he went on, holding his hands inches apart.

'And I'm like: 'I wonder how they're gonna play that in the movie – oh, they're probably just gonna cut right there.' But the movie, you can see their faces come close and then you can see their faces morph a little bit into a fake kiss.'
