Jon Mack was named the 14th head coach in Lancaster Bible College Men's Basketball history on May 23, 2019. He came to Lancaster Bible via Southwestern Christian University in Oklahoma, and coached at the University of Valley Forge for 17 years prior to his stop in the Sooner state.
Mack was an NCCAA Division II All-American as a player at Valley Forge in the late 1990s, where he scored 3,494 points, and grabbed 1,250 rebounds. He has won over 300 games during his coaching career, and led Valley Forge deep into the NCCAA Div. II National Tournament several times.
Since taking over the LBC men's basketball program, Mack has a 71-34 overall record and an astounding 40-8 conference record (NEAC/United East). Coach Mack has also won two United East Coach of the Year awards and the Chargers have earned eight All-Conference Selections, with Jordan Shewbridge earning back-to-back Player of the Year honors in 2021-22 and 2022-23. In both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 season, the Chargers finished the regular season as the United East Conference #1 Seed, winning the Conference Championship in the 2022-23 season and advancing to the NCAA III National Tournament. They advanced to the Round of 32rd for the first time in program history and Jordan Shewbridge was the first player to play in the NCAA III National All-Star Game.

Season-by-Season Highlights:
2019-20: In his first season at Lancaster Bible, Mack led the Chargers to the NEAC Final, where they nearly upset top-ranked Penn St. Harrisburg, but fell in overtime. Lancaster Bible defeated Penn College in the NEAC Quarterfinals, and then upset second-seeded SUNY Poly in the NEAC Semifinals. The Chargers began the season 2-8, but went 10-2 over their next 12 games, and secured second place in the NEAC South Division. Jordan Shewbridge was named to the NEAC All-Conference First Team, and was also honored by the NCCAA.
2020-21: The 2020-21 season was greatly impacted by COVID-19, with the United East canceling its season. The Chargers went 13-4 during the regular season, facing off against Division III competition. LBC earned a berth in the NCCAA Div. 1 Midwest Region Playoffs where they defeated Concordia (Mich.)Â by a score 84-61. Despite falling to Grace (Ind.) in the Region Final, the Chargers earned a spot in the NCCAA Div. I National Tournament. In the tournament, LBC defeated Sagu American Indian College and Columbia International to take 5th place in the tournament.
2021-22: The 2021-22 season was a stepping stone for the program as they were runner up in both the United East Conference championship and NCCAA Div. I National Championship. The Chargers finished the season with a 23-8 overall record and 15-1 in United East play. The Chargers began the season winning the F&M Tip-Off Tournament, beating Franklin and Marshall College 80-73. The Chargers went on to finish the United East regular season 15-1, earning the regular season title and hosting the United East tournament as the one-seed. After falling to Penn St. Harrisburg in the conference championship, the Chargers earned a berth into the NCCAA Div. I Midwest Region Playoffs, defeating Geneva College (Pa.) 78-75 and clinching a spot in the NCCAA Div. I National Championship. The Chargers went on to defeat two NAIA schools, Asbury University (Ky.) and Carolina University, before falling to Baptist Bible College in the NCCAA Div. I National Championship.
2022-23: The historical 2022-23 season from the Lancaster Bible men’s basketball squad contributed much of its success due to head coach Jon Mack. Mack’s team finished 21-8 overall, and because of an amazing 11-game win streak to close out the regular season, the Chargers ended 15-1 in the United East Conference, earning the number one seed. Lancaster Bible kept on charging through opponents during the United East Playoffs with wins against Wells College and Penn State Abington, and eventually, the team was named United East Champions, which earned them a spot in the NCAA Division III National Tournament. Mack and the Chargers made history by becoming the first team in program history to win a game in the big tournament with their win against New York University. Lancaster Bible did not make it any further in the tournament, but it was overall an outstanding performance. Head coach Jon Mack earned his second straight Coach of the Year award, and four Chargers nabbed All-Conference honors, including Jordan Shewbridge who was named Player of the Year in the United East for the second straight season.
