Army Veteran, John James Reilly, of Johnston, Passes at 86

John James Reilly, 86, of Johnston, passed away Friday, June 10, 2021, at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. 

He was the beloved husband of Jo-Ann (Bourgeious) Reilly for the past 62 years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Terrence J. and Gertrude C. (Holland) Reilly.

He was a loving father to his four children, John T. Reilly, Patricia A. Webb, Elaine A. DaRosa, and Michael J. Reilly. Beloved Grandfather to his four grandchildren, Robert Webb, Jr., Alicia Webb, Samantha DaRosa, and Isabella Reilly.

John always showed a strong work ethic. John was an Army Veteran, as part of the greatest generation to serve his country during the Korean conflict. He worked for 22 years at General Dynamics before his retirement and enjoyed 33 years working at the Providence Civic Center. 

In his spare time, he enjoyed working in his yard by the lake and taking drives down to the beach with his love Jo-Ann. He loved spending time with his family, going to Newport Creamery, and was an avid New York Yankees fan.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 15, at 9:30, am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rt. 117) Warwick.

Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Saint Joseph Church, 144 Danielson Pike, North Scituate, RI 02857.

Burial, with military honors, will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. 

Visiting hours will be held Monday from  5:00 - 7:00 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in his memory would be appreciated.
