John Marshall Senior High School Reviews
Rating 3.74 out of 5 691 reviews
I have enjoyed my 4 years of high school in John Marshall! I have been able to grow a community and build a family around me. My best experiences have been, being able to participate in the Music concerts that Marshall hosts, being part of a club and becoming Vice President of the club. The only bad experiences I have had are having my schedule messed up every year. Although, it may not seem like much, but when taking a higher skilled class like AP it can cause one to fall behind since it is a faster paced class. The only change I would like to see is Counselors reviewing the schedules of the students, and being more involved with the students specially the freshman since they are newcomers and can be shy sometimes.
John Marshall High School overall has been a nice experience for me, in terms of all the teachers, classes, and people that I have met. There are a lot of activities, clubs, events, and oppurtunities to get more involved. However, there needs to be changes like the bathroom cleanliness, the amount of bathrooms open, the food, the safety, and classrooms. Not all the bathrooms are always open, which leaves people to have to walk to a totally different area just to go to the bathroom. The bathrooms are almost always dirty which is more of the students fault but I rarely ever see janitors. The food is not what you would want. What I thought the lunches were going to look like, was like the ones in the high school movies. Instead, it is packaged and sometimes contains really nasty stuff. Alongside the horrible food, is the safety of the school. There has been so mnay threats and lockdowns it is ridiculous. There needs to be metal detectors or something to ensure the safety of the school.
Regarding John Marshall Senior High School, I have mixed feelings, but it's overall been a good experience. Due to COVID-19, my first year at the school was online, but even then, the teachers tried their best to make the most of the situation. The majority of the teachers care for their student's mental health, however there are some who prioritize their work and submission rates. There are also many fun school-wide activities such as Say "Hey" Day and our monthly Battle of the Bands. It's nice to see everyone come together to experience these events and have fun.
