Mary Evelyn Cagle Lambert
September 28, 1941 - December 26, 2021
Columbia, South Carolina - Mary Evelyn Cagle Lambert, 80, passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Prisma Health Richland in Columbia, South Carolina where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of Hope Church Columbia, Columbia SC.
Mrs. Lambert was born in the small town of Cheraw in Chesterfield County, South Carolina on September 28, 1941. She was the third child and only daughter of the late Mary Jane Biles Cagle and John Cagle. She is also preceded in death by her two older brothers, Cecil and John "Wesley" Cagle. Survivors include her loving husband of 43 years, Charles "Chuck" of Columbia; daughter, Tonya Branham (Bill) of Lexington; granddaughters, Taylor Sweat of Lexington and Brantley Sweat (Romley Wallace III) of Irmo; brother, Melvin "Ray" Cagle Sr. of Hopkins; as well as many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
Mrs. Lambert was an extremely hard worker and could never sit still for too long. After retiring from the Federal Government as a Small Business Administrator, she enjoyed her time by traveling with her loving husband, making memories with her daughter and two granddaughters, and participating in her church. She loved to be outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, and cutting the grass on her John Deere. She loved deeply and cared for every person she came into contact with. One of the most memorable things about Mrs. Lambert was her love for Christ. She loved the Lord, her God with all of her heart, her soul, and her mind, and she was so proud to let others know, too. She was an incredible wife, mother, and nana. Her absence from this world leaves a hole in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.
