When Jean Ier DE PONTHIEU was born in 1141, his father, Guy II Talvas DE PONTHIEU, was 26 and his mother, Ida DE SAINT-POL, was 26. He married Béatrix de DE SAINT-POL before 4 December 1170. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 2 daughters. He died on 30 June 1191, in Acre, Northern, Palestine, at the age of 50, and was buried in Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France.
