In a widely circulated video, Argos vice-president of player personnel John Murphy was seen slapping a Tiger-Cats fan and appearing to use a homophobic slur as players were exiting the field following the Ticats win.

“The Canadian Football League has suspended indefinitely John Murphy, Toronto Argonaut Vice-President (of) Player Personnel, following an investigation into his physical and verbal altercation with fans following last Sunday’s Eastern Final,” the league said in a statement.

The CFL also noted that its investigation into an incident involving “player altercations with fans” is still ongoing.
