The city centre is very compact with the main shopping areas, bars and restaurants close to the cathedral and within the city walls. Would recommend the 2.2 mile walk around the old city walls from where you can stop off and enjoy Priory Park and The Bishops Garden. Pleanty of cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants to choose from. Would recommend The Barn in Little London which is great for coffee and delicious pastries and the food and cocktails at Purchases were fantastic. Lemongrass Thai restaurant in St Pancras was also very good. An informative and enjoyable guided walk can be booked from the Novium Museum.

We planned to go to the Pallant Museum and really enjoyed the exhibition which we had booked to see as well as other items on display. The stunning buildings there were Georgian and modern and the coffee shop was lovely. The restaurant looked great although we did not eat there. The cathedral was very interesting and an ancient building with arresting 20th century artworks. The Palace gardens next to the cathedral incorporate some of the old city walls and are peaceful and beautifully planted. The Roman Palace at Fishbourne was easily accessible by bus or train and has an amazing set of finds and mosaic floors. We ate at Cote Brasserie which had lovely food in a low key but smart building.

Small enough to get around on foot but plenty to do.

Small enough to get around on foot but plenty to do. Pallant House Art Gallery is excellent. There's a fine local museum, Cathedral and city walls to walk around. Plenty to visit in the area too - Fishbourne Roman Palace, West Dean Gardens, the coast eg at Bosham and NT properties.

Pleasant town centre, with Cathedral and theatres all within walking distance. We took the drive out to West Wittering beach and walked on to National Trust’s East Head. This is one of the nicest beaches on the South Coast. Worth pre-booking the car parking on-line before you go as it’s cheaper!

Lovely small hotel with spacious communal areas in the bar, gardens and restaurant to relax. Perfect for a weekend seeing Chichester, Bracklesham and West Wittering beach. Restaurant was flexible to cater for vegans with hot breakfast, although not much option from the continental buffet, could do with plant based yoghurt and milk for cereals. Equally room had no UHT plant milk sachets and biscuits contained animal products and allergens. Fantastic Indian restaurant just across the road, Thyme and Chillies.

A very comfortable holiday let in a wonderful location--very close to Chichester, yet definitely out in the country. Near a great pub at Dell Quay. Well-equipped kitchen with everything needed for meal prep. Comfy beds, cozy living space, great shower. Jack's a terrific host--easy to get in touch with and very responsive. This was the second time I've stayed at Quay Quarters, and I'll be back the next time I'm in Chichester.

Lovely boutique hotel right in the centre of Chichester. Great breakfast in the morning and we had an excellent evening meal. The service was very friendly, lovely decor - secret garden - terrace area and rooms individual and tastefully decorated. A word to summarise Puchases for me would be ELEGANT. Right in the centre of town and a really pleasant stay. When back in the area will be our first choice.

The hotel is on a great location for shopping in Chichester and the Theatre. The staff were really lovely, although, like evrywhere else at the moent, they were short staffed. Having said that, they were very lovely and doing their very best in difficult times. Plus some of them were very new to their jobs - been there a matter of weeks - but really trying hard to make a success of the venue.

Was expecting a proper Breakfast to be honest but it was just cereals and fruit etc. If you wanted a full English or eggs, you need to go to shop to buy these. Location was a mile walk from Chichester town centre. Good area and parking is outside. Just need to give car registration to the owner to cover permit. Owner was welcoming and showed us around the B&B.

The location of the property on the high street was great for a base for exploring the town centre. Whilst the hotel doesn’t have parking there was a public car park just 5 mins walk away which was reasonably priced and always plenty of space to park. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and the room was very clean and comfortable.

Location was perfect for a sight seeing and theatre visit to Chichester. Everything about the hotel and room was lovely, spotlessly clean and tidy and everywhere looked newly decorated. Plenty of tea, coffee and milk in the room. Breakfast was perfect and freshly prepared. The bed was also really comfortable which is big plus.

We loved staying at Purchases from the minute we walked in the door, restaurant staff met us and showed us to the room. The room was lovely and the bed comfortable. You couldn’t beat the location. The bathroom was the largest we had of all the hotels we stayed in during our first trip back to the UK in 3 years.

Our room was extremely comfortable, though a little small. Location in the town was extremely good with a choice of restaurants near by, but not near the Harbour! Our breakfast was first class, tasty and good portions. We will use the hotel again when we visit Chichester...
