1956: A Young Jerry Hall
Born Jerry Faye Hall, the model grew up in a working-class Texas town. Her dad desperately wanted sons, which is why she and her twin sister, Terry, both have "boy" names.
1960: Growing Up Hall
Hall and her five sisters grew up terrified of their father, a former army sergeant-turned-truck driver, who was an abusive alcoholic. "He was very volatile and very dangerous. Now it would be called post-traumatic stress syndrome. He was very damaged," Hall told The Guardian.
1970: Modeling in Texas
As a teenager, Hall began modeling in Texas for the Kim Dawson Agency. She showed promise in the industry—at 14 years old she already stood 5 foot 10. Little did she know she would later grow another two inches.
1972: Headed for Paris
After getting into a car accident, Hall came into some insurance money. At the age of 16, she decided to spend the money on a plane ticket to Paris to pursue a modeling career.
1973: A Young Model
After moving to Paris, Hall began to forge her way in the modeling industry. She moved in with other young models, including actress Jessica Lange and iconic supermodel Grace Jones.
1974: Thriving in High Fashion
Hall soon began booking high-profile jobs, appearing on the catwalk in shows like Yves Saint Laurent and Thierry Mugler.
1975: Her First Rock-and-Roll Experience
In 1975, Hall booked a modeling job for the album cover of British band Roxy Music's Siren. While on set, she met the band's front man, Bryan Ferry, and the two began dating.
1975: A Supermodel in the Making
In 1975, Hall landed her first major magazine cover. It wasn't long before she became one of the most recognizable faces in the industry. By 1977, she had graced the cover of more than 40 fashion magazines.
1976: Getting Engaged
After five months of dating, Hall announced her engagement to English singer-songwriter Bryan Ferry.
1976: Meeting Mick Jagger
He was married to Bianca Jagger, she was recently engaged to singer Bryan Ferry, but when Mick Jagger met Hall after inviting her and Ferry over for dinner in London, he was instantly smitten with her.
1977: A Secret Romance
Hall broke up with fiancé Bryan Ferry in 1977 and began a quiet romance with Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger. However, the singer was still involved with his wife, Bianca Jagger.
1978: A Rock-and-Roll Couple
After Jagger's divorce was finalized in 1978, he and Hall became known as one of rock and roll's most popular couples.
1979: Studio 54 Staples
The couple quickly became a fixture at Studio 54. Though she was constantly surrounded by them, Hall said she never took drugs and that she remembers the parties with absolute clarity. "Andy Warhol could remember them, too, because he didn't take drugs either. Keith Richards certainly can't," Hall told The Guardian.

1980: Simple Times
Jagger and Hall take a bumper car for a spin at an amusement park in 1980, after being together for roughly two years. "Mick is gone over Jerry," a friend of his told People at the beginning of their relationship. "He's never had a 'thing' that lasted so long."
1981: A Birthday Bash
Hall and Jagger leave the model's 25th birthday party in 1981. They were dressed in clashing pastel prints for the occasion.

1982: She's with the Band
The model departs The Rolling Stones' airplane in Scotland while on tour with the rock group.
1982: Walking Out on Mick
Hall left Jagger in 1982, supposedly over his lack of interest in getting married. The model began seeing British horse breeder Robert Sangster shortly after. When asked about the split, Hall explained that, "We just broke up for a while."
1983: Reunited and Expecting
Despite their brief separation, by 1983 Hall and Jagger were back together. Shortly after, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child.
