Biography
Jerrod Lee Niemann, is a singer songwriter at the forefront of the country scene, being a multi instrumentalist with two country chart number 1 singles.
Originally from Harper Kansas, Niemann, (born July 24th 1979) built up his career with a lot of hard grafting and dedication. He competed in talent competitions at a very young age. He enrolled at the South Plains College in Levelland, Texas, on an Arts degree. He developed his sound playing in clubs and bars, gaining residencies as the Stockyard Saloon and the White Elephant Saloon. It was in 1999 that he decided to released his own debut album “Long Hard Road”, before moving to Nashville, Tennessee in September 2000. It was in his new home that he signed an artist management deal with Mercury Records, but didn’t release anything with them. Following this, he would go on to touring across the country, and then to Europe with the band, Kane, which featured the members, Steve Carlson and Christian Kane.
He was fortunate enough to sign with Arista Nashville’s Sea Gayle division, which was co-owned by Brad Paisley in 2010. He went on to release his debut single “Lover, Lover” in early 2010, which was originally a number one single in Australia in 1992. It went onto become Niemann’s first top 40 single in the country music charts, making it to number one. The album that this single featured on, “Judge Jerrod & the Hung Jury” made it to number 7 in the country charts and number 7 in the US Charts. Out of this album also spawned “What Do You Want” which made it to number 4 and “One More Drinkin’ Song” which made it to number 13.
Niemann’s following album “Free the Music”, released on October 2nd, 2012, made it to number 9 on the US Country chart, which features a track on the album which is a duet with Colbie Caillat, called “All About You”. The highest charting song was “Shinin’ on Me” which reached number 17 on the US Country Chart. Niemann’s fifth studio album, “High Noon” was released on March 25th 2014, and features his second number one hit “Drink to That All Night”. The album itself made it to number 3 in the Country Charts.

‘Everybody knows, its gonna be one of those, I can drink to that all night’…the opening lyrics of Drink to that All Night rang out acapella throughout the audience, and everyone fell quiet as the set began. With his three top selling Country music albums, Niemann knew how to work the crowd, and sang hit after hit, pleasing every single audience member.
Jerrod is a born entertainer, and from his solo performances with minimalistic guitar, to his huge sounds with the band, he brought down the house after every song. His band were tight, and it was evident that they’d been playing together for years, because at the nod of the head or the wink of an eye they’d change songs quicker than you could think possible. The flawless transitions left the audience astounded, the vibe was amazing. Jerrod played a really long set and maintained his energy throughout the entire performance, the stamina of the performers was incredible. After the last song, the crowd were cheering continuously and they came back for an epic encore. Niemann played What do You Want as his final track, there couldn’t have been a better ending. One of the most high energy, exciting shows I’ve been to.

Mercury Records Alumnus from Kansas, Jerrod Niemann is due to be the focal point of tonight’s attention, bringing to the table his own concoction of country and western music. He launches head first into a batch of songs that are from milestones of his career. The audience gets pretty animated when it comes to the song “Lover, Lover”, seeing this 500 capacity venue erupts in simultaneous dancing. “One More Drinkin’ Song” inspires punters to raise their glasses in celebration. I definitely felt as though that was the case in general with this whole evening. “Drink to That All Night”, is the huge sequential piece maintaining the party atmosphere that he’s created. Niemann somehow mellows out the evening with his song “Shinin’ on Me” in a solo piano rendition of the song. It is as though this whole audience has a red solo cup with some kind of mystery punch in by the end of the evening, there isn’t a frown in sight. “Lover, Lover” is a worthy closer of the night seeing everyone bouncing to this 120 bpm track, belting out the chorus.

Jerrod Niemann is a great singer, who's only downfall is still being an up and coming artist. As most of you know, artists sound different in person than on CD. Jerrod Niemann is no exception. He sounds different, but his voice is still great although not as powerful. Song wise, I was very disappointed. I've listened to his songs since his release of Lover Lover 4 years ago. He has some amazing songs, which a lot of them he did not perform. I was shocked that about 40% of the songs he sang were not even his. There were so many songs he could have done of his own, but he did not. Is the concert worth going to? Yeah, I'm glad I saw him once. Am I going to see him again? I might, but I'm in no rush and definitely won't spend much money on a ticket.

We went and saw Jerrod at The Chance in Poughkeepsie, NY on 4/27 (GREAT VENUE) and at D’Youville college on 4/28 (outdoor show) As always Jerrod puts on an AMAZING show! He is very engaging with the crowd and puts on a Rocking show! You don’t want to pass up the chance to him LIVE!!

Jerrod is amazingly talented and underrated! He always puts on a GREAT show and is very interactive with his fans! I’ve seen him many times and Love his energy! If you’ve never seen him, you’re missing out! Jerrod is an absolute MUST SEE entertainer!
