Jodie Turner-Smith Joins Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell in Film Drama 'A Big Bold Beautiful Journey’ at Sony

Lily Rabe, Jodie Turner-Smith, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and newcomer Lucy Thomas have joined the cast of Imperative Entertainment and 30West’s romance A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, which will star Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell and be directed by Kogonada. Sony Pictures will release the film in theaters globally.

The script is written by Seth Reiss. Imperative’s Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas and Ryan Friedkin will produce the feature along with Reiss and Youree Henley. Executive producers include Kogonada, Ilene Feldman and Original Films’ Ori Eisen. 30West is financing.

Plot details are under wraps, but A Big Bold Beautiful Journey is described as an imaginative tale of two strangers and the extraordinary emotional journey that connects them.

Rabe was most recently seen in David E. Kelley’s Love and Death on Max alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Jesse Plemons and Patrick Fugit, and she also appeared in Bill Lawrence’s Shrinking for Apple TV+ opposite Jason Segel and Harrison Ford. Rabe recently made her directorial debut with Downtown Owl, which she co-directed, produced and stars in with her partner Hamish Linklater. The film world premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last yer and will be released by Sony/Stage 6 on April 23.

She will next be seen in David E. Kelley’s Presumed Innocent for Apple TV+, alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Ruth Negga. She also recently wrapped production on Michael Cristofer’s feature Places, Please opposite Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and Pierce Brosnan.

A Big Bold Beautiful Journey marks a reunion for Turner-Smith, Kogonada and Farrell who previously worked together on A24’s After Yang. Most recently, Turner-Smith starred in Noah Baumbach’s White Noise, Murder Mystery 2 and the final season of xes Education all for Netflix. Upcoming projects include starring roles in the Disney+ Star Wars series The Acolyte and Apple TV+’s Bad Monkey. She is also currently in production on Tron: Ares, slated for release in 2025.

I’m glad they don’t have Jidiebin the horror stuff like Lupita and other dark skinned women. She seems to get a lot of sci fi fantasy which I think is better.
