The first official teaser has been released for "Percy Jackson and the Olympians," the new, upcoming Disney original series based on Rick Riordan's best-selling fantasy books.

The streaming series stars Walker Scobell (star of the Netflix sci-fi action flick "The Adam Project") as Percy Jackson, a young teenage boy who discovers that he's the descendant of a Greek god and also there's an ongoing battle between the gods.

James Bobin, the acclaimed director of "The Muppets," "Alice Through the Looking Glass," and "Dora and the Lost City of Gold," directed the pilot episode. Bobin also serves as executive producer on the series alongside author Rick Riordan.

The cast also includes Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, and Timm Sharp.

"Percy Jackson and the Olympians" is coming soon exclusively on Disney Plus.
