Anyone seen his live show? It has extremely mixed reviews https://www.ticketmaster.com/jason-alexander-tickets/artist/1313768
Jason Alexander Live
Based on the reviews, people really need to be fans of the act they're seeing before attending. How did they not expect a multi-faceted show? The guy has done comedy, musicals (he was a musical theatre guy before Seinfeld was even a thing), acting - he's not a one-trick pony and if you're gonna fork out money to go and see him I'd expect that you'd already know what he's all about. Did they really just think he was gonna recite the scripts from Seinfeld? lol.
Cant help but feel sorry for the guy, obviously a man of many talents yet he cant escape his magnum opus...George Costanza...theres a sort of poetic irony in all of this....
He spent a great deal of his pre-Seinfeld days on Broadway. I actually watched a performance he did back then just last night on Youtube and he's literally amazing. He's a man of many, many talents yet people only seem to know him as George.
He even won the Tony for best actor in a musical right before Seinfeld began
What does he do? Sing and dance? Tell jokes?
i believe the term is amusement park
You nailed it:
An Evening with Jason Alexander and His Hair is a comedy variety show that features stand-up comedy, music, improvisation and audience participation. Alexander portrayed the much-loved character George Costanza from the hit show Seinfeld, universally and ironically referred to as "the show about nothing," a series whose popularity has had an endless reign. Beyond Seinfeld, Alexander's diverse career encompasses art forms from Broadway's live stage to comedy, film, television and directing.
A lot of that "you ever notice this?" kind of thing
Bait a hook?
Sounds like people were expecting a comedy show by a guy who was on a sitcom, disappointed to be entertained across a myriad of theatrics by a very talented actor.
George I'd getting upset
When Jason Alexander was gearing up to play the Tony Kornheiser role in a sitcom that ended up dying very quickly, I watched an interview during which Alexander said he had absolutely zero interest in sports, but knew it was a thing and was researching the concept for the role. I remember thinking, This guy is completely different from George Costanza in real life.
