  • Fans and followers adored the post and wished her a happy birthday.

  • The actress continues to be an aging icon and we can’t wait to see what her next year will bring.

It’s not a national holiday but if it were up to us, it would be. Jamie Lee Curtis turns 64 today, November 22. And she posted a gallery of fresh-faced selfies on Instagram to honor the special occasion.

“TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!” she captioned the post. “First, I would like to thank Janet Leigh for bringing me here. I also want to thank her for her example as a woman who spent the majority of her life helping others.” As for gifts, she doesn’t want any. She’d much rather her friends and family order from her small business, My Hand in Yours, which donates 100% of its profits to Los Angeles Children’s Hospital.

In all of her selfies, Curtis is modeling one of the lifestyle brand’s stylish products: a scarf, a baseball cap, a bucket hat, a necklace, a blanket, even hand sanitizer spray.

“My little company @my_hand_in_yours is growing and we still have a $25,000 matching grant from @portosbakery through the end of the month,” she continued. “There’s still a week to go. We are nearing the grant. Remember that every item in this store, every cent spent is sent to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles so you can still give twice with the grant and give every day with the beautiful connection to the care and treatment of critically ill and injured children.”

“The gift is everlasting,” she concluded. “One child recovered is the best gift anybody could ever want or need or desire in their life.”

Fans and friends loved the sweet message and of course, wished Curtis a happy birthday. “Happy bday icon!!!” one person commented. “Happy Bday Living Legend 💓.” another added. “Happy Bday!! You are the best,” someone else wrote.

As someone who has spoken candidly about aging, Curtis is likely soaking up every second of her 64th trip around the sun. After all, she’s been on a mission to defy her Hollywood “sell-by date,” and with the last year of work being her most abundant yet with projects like Halloween Ends and Everything Everywhere All at Once, it’s safe to say she’s accomplishing her goal.

“I have a motto now, as I am past that sell-by date, which is, ‘If not now, when? If not me, who?’ I say it to myself every single day,” she told InStyle in January. “And after more than 40 years in the business, I am busier today than I have ever been in my entire life.”

As she embraces this new period of her career and breaks away from the sexy schoolgirl archetype Hollywood raised her in, she feels free (as evidenced by her baring it all in stunning pics for the New York Times), and she can’t wait for what’s next. “All I’m interested in is freedom as a performer, and I don’t get that opportunity very often. But the times I’ve been able to be free, I’m on fire,” she recently told The New York Times. “I’m now in this beautiful new wave of my work, which is transformative.”

So, the next time you hear someone say they’ve passed their prime, point them to Curtis—and remind them how empowering aging can be. We really do just get better with the years.
