James Corden's final appearance at the helm of The Late Late Show has been revealed — and it's soon.

The presenter will host the talk show one last time on April 27, with Top Gun: Maverick star Tom Cruise returning for a chat and a final sketch.

The two last appeared on the show together in 2022, when the Mission:Impossible star put the host through a series of intense stunts like piloting fighter jets and skydiving.

In April last year, Corden announced he would step down from his role on the talk show after eight years, extending his initial plan to host The Late Late Show for five.

"It's been it's a really hard decision to leave because I'm so immensely proud of the show," Corden told Deadline at the time.

He explained his decision by saying he intends to put down roots in the UK and spend more time with his family.

A replacement hasn't formally been announced yet, but comedian Mo Gilligan's name has been made in connection to the show.

The Masked Singer judge addressed the rumours during an appearance on Good Morning Britain last October, saying: "It's beautiful speculation. To be linked with that job is really cool."

As for Corden, the Gavin & Stacey co-creator has been busy with some acting projects last year, including his stint on TV series Mammals, also starring Sally Hawkins, Melia Kreiling and Colin Morgan.

In 2021, the presenter and comedian served as producer on Camila Cabello's take on Cinderella, in which he also starred as James the Mouse. That same year, he voiced the titular hero in Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway as well as hosting the reunion of Friends on HBO Max.

The Late Late Show with James Corden airs on CBS in the US, and on Sky Comedy and NOW in the UK. The series will end on April 27.
