I loved the movie although the case it came in was an extremely thin case. That’s the only thing I would’ve considered a dislike

The shop did a fine job of delivering an excellent product, still factory sealed. It arrived in a timely fashion, well packaged. NOTE: If you're looking for a John Candy film, this is NOT a movie you want! Although Candy's picture is on the cover with his name, his role as Detective Kopec is minor. The back cover even says 'John Candy leads an all star cast,' when in fact he doesn't appear in the film until the last half hour, or so. By then the director has shown more of Anthony Newly's bum than anything else (superfluous nudity) and decided to go with an amusing Keystone Cops style of comedy that nonetheless fails to save the story. I'd have never watched this movie if they hadn't put John Candy on the cover, and I can't recommend it for anyone except the die-hard Anthony Newly fan.

I watched this online. It is NOT a John Candy movie! 55 mins into it John first appears in his very small role. It’s really Anthony Newley’s film. And boy, is this a stinker! This sloppy film is all ver the place. Basically, Newley for some reason wants to utterly and even sadisticly, destroy a politician. He goes way over the top to do this! Only Stephany Powers does a good acting job. But she can’t save this film.
John is the selling point and his actual screen time must be less than 10 mins. He has a few lines. That’s it. Oh, and he’s very young. He doesn’t look fully grown!
I wouldn’t waste my time watching this if I were you!

Not John Candy's first movie but definitely a very good movie. John Candy was a very good actor whether he was the star or playing a small role. Definitely a good idea at anytime. John Candy, One of the top great Comedians of all-times.

This 1975 Canadian film, with some international cast, is basically a romantic farce. Sweeney (played by Antony Newley) has continued to have steamy sessions in bed with his divorced wife, Georgina (acted by Stefanie Powers); the sex seems better to them divorced than when they were married. Isaac Hayes, Yvonne De Carlo, and John Candy (the latter two of whom are Canadian, star-billed Candy, however, only in a bit part) are also part of the cast, so it would be wrong to assume that Candy is the only real celebrity of this star-studded cinematic dud.

Sweeney has the irritating habit (as it appears to others' sensibilities) of pulling off practical jokes and roguishly hurtful stunts when things do not go his way, which he does for a variety of reasons as part of the plot. The movie would have been better if the actors' spoken delivery and sometimes their physical manoeuvres, too. were less forced and more spontaneous. As it is, the entire thing suffers from too much unremitting mugging, shallow posing, and tiresomely tart, rapid delivery.

As for the North American DVD edition itself which these eyes viewed (Legacy Entertainment LEDVD-8013), the quality is mediocre, to say the best of it. Quite possibly it has been dubbed from VHS. (Perhaps, by contrast, other DVD editions, like the one headed above, are better.) Legacy's screen imaging is second-rate and the sound lacking in clarity, the latter a particularly irksome factor since there are no compensating subtitles to help to trudge one's way through the dialogue.

nothing wrong quality wise, just a bit of a mess as a movie .A few ,or rather one or two good jokes, some slapstick/keystone cops type stuff, and Newley ill advisedly baring too much. This sort of thing was around a lot in the sixties, sadly
