Quickly: Yes, there is a train station, on lower level of airport. However it is not the "main" station in Frankfurt,so you usually have to take the airport train to Hauptbanhof and change for most destinations (it is easy and not far).

It´s not exactly true. The long-distance station (Frankfurt Flughafen Fernbahnhof) is a major rail hub for long distance connections in it´s own right. For many destinations you won´t need to go to the main station.

Thanks! I think I looked up a train schedule for me to go to Ramstein from the airport terminal. But I have to go to Ramstein Bahn station. Surely that is close to the town of Ramstein-Miesenbach. I think I am stressing to much about the train. I just don't want to fly to Germany and not have a plan to get from one point to another. I would like to familiarize myself with it before I get there. My hotel also suggested airport shuttle service. I might just take that. Would be much easier for me I think.

No. I was hoping to catch a train or go to Ramstein immediately after I land in Frankfurt.

Quick question. Do you have military ID ? I believe there is a shuttle bus that runs from Frankfurt airport to Ramstein and it is either free or very low cost for anyone with a military ID.

No ID. Although my father was in the Air Force and worked at Ramstein 1965-68, I will not be able to enter the base. I started first grade there.
