Stop by the tasting room, which is only open two weekends each month, to sample dry, semi-sweet, and a selection of featured wines that change throughout the year—dry reds like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, dry whites like Chardonnay, semi-sweet wines like peach Chardonnay, scarlet cranberry, black cherry red, and strawberry Riesling—as well as other seasonal varieties.

Yukon is known as the Czech capital of Oklahoma and the annual Oklahoma Czech Festival, which celebrates the Czech heritage of the area, is held on the first Saturday of October each year. Thousands turn out to get a taste of culture, food, music, dancing, traditional costumes, and arts and crafts hailing from the Czech Republic. The customs and foods you will experience here have been handed down through the generations dating all the way back to the Czech settlers who came to the area in the late 19th century.

The Czech festival typically starts at 10 a.m. with one of the state’s largest parades on Main Street. Afterward, at Czech Hall, you can enjoy plenty of family-friendly entertainment including polka music and dancing, carnival rides, and an arts and crafts show—save room for Czech pastries and sandwiches. All year long, Czech Hall, built in 1901, is a social center and meeting place hosting everything from lodge meetings and parties to plays, language classes, and polka dances.

The city of Yukon began in the late 1800s and has plenty to offer in terms of historic areas. Located along the iconic Route 66, downtown Yukon is home to a number of shops and restaurants, as well as the homes of the town's founders. Route 66 was aligned through Yukon in 1926 and served as Yukon's main thoroughfare, drawing people to its business district. Sadly, once I-40 was constructed farther south, fewer travelers came through the little town, a fate similar to some of the other places you'll find along historic Route 66.

Robert Funk Jr. bought eight rare Clydesdale horses in the mid-1990s and brought them to a ranch in Yukon, Oklahoma. They became quite popular, and the ranch now has 40 of these majestic creatures, which appear at events across the nation, including the Oklahoma State Fair.

Head four miles north of I-40 on Garth Brooks Boulevard in Yukon to visit the Express Clydesdales Barn, a specially-reconstructed barn was originally built in 1936. Amish barn specialists came from Indiana to rebuild its main structure, which serves as a showroom and barn for the horses. You'll see the wagon the Clydesdales pull as well as their elaborate harnesses, trophies, and information about the horses.
