Is craigslist still relevant?

I haven't used craigslist for probably 10 years and totally forgot it. I mainly use RFD and kijiji. Read a bike post in Reddit today and reminded me of craigslist. So googled it and took a look. It didn't change alot from 10 years ago and still like no frills.

Just curious is it still a popular buy and sell places? I think kijiji is much modern

I've had better results with Facebook's marketplace than Kijiji

For me, kijiji build its own eco system. For example, you can chat inside app instead of email back and forth, so it's quite convenient. Its like you text to another people without having phone number

Probably also because they have ads to promote them, I didn't even know craigslist has app until today

Also kijiji has good UI design. Craigslist looks like a high school web project

I think what it comes down to in Vancouver is that Craiglist is where the action is with little to nothing on Kijiji at all. Now that Facebook is also in the marketplace game, I doubt that anyone in Vancouver would ever use Kijiji since if they need or want those extras like chat, use Facebook... if not, Craigslist.

Echoing that Craigslist is the place to go in Vancouver. Kijiji has very little, unless you're looking for animals (don't do it, all backyard breeders!). I don't use Facebook so can't comment on it.

I prefer Craigslist over kijiji
Aside from the fact that nobody uses kijiji here in BC, I prefer the interface of craigslist. Simple, no graphics. Like when Google first came out, no craps all over the pages like other search engines.

This. Craigslist is like the classifieds in the newspaper used to be. Just give me the goods without flash and bloat.

This was my experience as well, way more views and replies on Facebook marketplace. However I still get real sales without too many replies on Kijiji as well so I still post on Kijiji as well.

There only one problem you have to use Facebook, I wouldn't trust Facebook with my personal info

Can echo that Craigslist is still very relevant in Vancouver and GVRD area. People here use LetGo and Facebook Marketplace as well but seems Craigslist still has a lot of users.

BC is very regional.

Vancouver/Lower Mainland is Craigslist country. Victoria and surrounds is used.ca (Black Press publisher of community papers) and Okanagan is castanet. Kijiji is an also-ran for the most part though there is use, probably by those coming from back east.
I smile when I see container ships sailing past my house laden with stuff made in China

and Craigslist is popular here in Victoria with all the people that moved from Vancouver.

Kijiji cracks me up since the few times I'll open itup and take a look it's full of "I'm moving back to Toronto" and "I'm moving back to Calgary" ads.

Kijiji may look nicer, but the UI is actually horse manure, on a computer browser, anyhow. I have to scroll, scroll, scroll in order to see more than a handful of listings. Craigslist may look like newspaper classified ads, but it is no-nonsense, and saves time. I don't need big ass fonts/banners that say what website I'm on for every page.

edit// Oops, Dreamrider beat me to it :D .

Fraser valley, Vancouver, and Vancouver Island very big on Craigslist. Hardly ever use Kijiji.
I will take a look at used.ca as thriftshopper stated above

So conclusion: in BC, yes , rest of Canada, not really?

Just curious: do you guys use a second account to do Facebook marketplace stuff or use your main account to do Facebook marketplace trade?

I don't have Facebook account, but i heard some of my coworkers use different accounts for marketplace and some use the same account

It's even more regional than that.

Varagesale is big in Victoria and barely used in Nanaimo.

Used.ca is (still) big in Victoria and Nanaimo but non existent in Port Alberni and so-so up where you are.

Craigslist is barely used here in Victoria but still has its followers.

Not me, but I'm only a buyer, so I don't need to worry about pissed off people :D . I've only done a few transactions via Facebook.
