Rewatched Intermezzo (1936), with Ingrid Bergman, Gösta Ekman, Inga Tidblad, and Hasse Ekman. It's such a beautifully made melodrama, a highlight of Swedish 30s cinema and of director Gustaf Molander's career. Very powerful. Comparable to Stahl, Goulding, Negulesco.
Conversation
The little girl played by Britt Hagman is especially good. Some of the best scenes involve her, like her birthday party.

No, I haven't seen the Swedish version. But I have it! Will move it up the queue.
