      Critics Consensus

Senselessly frantic and altogether shallow, Inferno sends the Robert Langdon trilogy spiraling to a convoluted new low.

Danish K Although I really wanted to, I did not feel a connection with any of the characters so I couldn't get invested. Also, the sense of danger and urgency felt contrived and uninspired. I found it difficult to believe that a middle-aged civilian could run circles around highly trained agencies. Overall, I get the sense that the team was contractually obligated to make the sequel so they churned one out. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/05/24 Full Review Viriane L I enjoyed it but what really pissed me off was the girl running away with heels like girlie couldn't just take off her shoes to walk up there what a waste of time Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/24 Full Review Blu B Worst One. The editing and pacing are terrible. The core story is simple enough but it just completely forgets about it in the middle and throws tons of unneeded subplots, convuluted segways, farfetched plot twists, and so many unneeded blurry flashback scenes. The flashback scenes feel so unneeded and really become a distraction and the biggest issue in the first half. It also gets very fast in editing at times out of nowhere and throws things off as well. Once that dies down it straight up doesn't make sense at all for 45 minutes and just is so complex and convuluted I can't tell you what is happening and than it gets really jumpy as well. Any tension which wasn't much it had from the first half just evaporates completely. The plot gets so ridiculous it's insane. At least there isn't any church bashing or preaching in this one but you get a crazy nonsensical plot in place. The music is boring, over the top, and overused but ok overall. And the cinematography/acting aren't that good. This one arguably has the least amount of plot expose but it still has a lot and there isn't much character in this because of how convuluted the story is. The shaky cam at times during fights is a bit much and the lighting isn't great. The settings really are very forgettable also arguably the least memorable of the franchise. Hanks is the best thing in this but even he's just ok. A disappointing end to a subpar trilogy overall. Skip This. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/09/24 Full Review Gray J Ron Howard continues the age old tradition of directing a movie based on a book, without ever reading the book. Why follow the source material when you can make it up as you go along? Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/06/24 Full Review Mu S Tem uma ótima proposta, mas infelizmente não consegue fazer isso muito bem, como as atuações serem péssimas e a pior coisa do filme é as filmagens. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/13/23 Full Review Topi L Shaky camerawork and poor editing. This movie's beginning tells me everything that I'm up against. Tom Hanks on the other hand makes this movie watchable, but not anytime soon. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
