Antony And The Johnsons – I Am A Bird Now

First time I heard Antony, so that's probably when this album came out, I convinced myself that the voice was that of a black man! Was surprised when I finally saw pics of him, and then found out that he was born on the South Coast of England (a few miles from where I live). Saw them live either in 2005 or 2006. One of the weirdest gigs I've ever seen. The support act was even odder (she got right-Royally booed). She was a dancer doing some really odd moves in a really bizarre outfit

The color is a bit random but the pressing sounds very good. And the music is wonderful ofcourse

Another terrible vinyl experience with the dreaded ⓤ. Please, record labels, stop being cheap and using United. It’s a disgrace to your artists and their fans when we have to tolerate these subpar pressings.

Bought this outstanding album about 15 years ago, I’ve just noticed KG is cut here.

After a clean mine was good. Little to no surface noise and few pops or clicks, certainly not enough to spoil this great album. Good overall sound and a good pressing.

Noisy as hell. Even after cleaning. Such a shame as this is very quiet music.

The 223 repress is not very clear and at first I thought my stylus was on its way out, but I popped on a few other records and the sound quality was ace. I guess the only way to describe it is that if you recorded the original vinyl onto a C90 and then remastered the repress from the cassette, it would sound like this. Shame, as the album is an absolute gem.

A contemporary classic. Dynamics on this pressing are nice. Vinyl does have quite a lot of surface noise but pretty bearable. If you’re looking for a good pressing, this is decent enough but definitely not the best. It does come with the great printed inner sleeve and insert, as well as the download code if you’re already wondering.
