off the beaten trail but worth the journey
It is off the beaten track but worth the effort. We, like many other looked at the property from across the street and marvelled at its quirkiness. I love how the property embraces nature and has trees that almost seem to be within the structure of the building. It make a refreshing change from the other more traditional buildings Vienna is famous for.

    Hundertwasser's house is not like people's... 😁😁😁
Complete freedom of creativity, which this strange architect took advantage of. He managed to create a unique project that most citizens and tourists liked. Hundertwasser's house hides a very rich inner world behind its remarkable and bright exterior. At first glance, it may seem that the house was created specifically in an outrageous style to attract travelers. However, the reality was a little different. The architect put a lot of hidden meanings into his project, which influenced the appearance of the building.

    Hundertwasser house
The building has a "hilly" number of storeys. In the house, Hundertwasser embodied his ideals of art and beauty, such as the use of a whole palette of colors, the absence of straight lines, a lot of greenery and versatility. The motley facade is complemented by windows of different sizes and shapes, mosaics and ornaments made of colored glazed tiles. Not everyone likes it, because in Vienna everything is luxurious and modern architecture sometimes looks twofold. But personally, I love this place, every time we come here, we are happy to take a walk along the street.

The architecture from Hundertwasser is quite unique with only a few samples worldwide. I would recommend a visit there if it is on your way. A few galleries are next door! Unfortunately the building is not open to visitors, only a restaurant is next to the building. Plenty of souveniers to purchase all around!

This magical, very eye-catching place is located on the corner of Kegelgasse and Löwengasse.
This residential complex takes its name from Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
Hunderwasserhaus can only be visited from the outside, but opposite this building is a shopping complex called Hundertwasser Village - there you can already enter, buy numerous souvenirs, and above all feast your eyes on beautiful paintings and other things.

Hundertwasserhaus created by Friedrich Stowasser, who is compared to Gaudi. There is a lot of truth in it - vibrant colors, mosaics, tiles, softly wavy lines, curves, bulges and depressions. Definitely worth seeing the work of both men with your own eyes - I succeeded :), hundertwasserhaus only after dark, but it still looked like as from fairy tale.

Cool little spot & something different to see after viewing all the great historic parts of Vienna. Nice little indoor bar/cafe & shopping district right across from this. There are residents who live there, so you won't want to try and enter the actual building, but the best view is over the outside anyway.

An interesting place to visit.

As it is an actual residence, you can only view the outside which is viewable from the paved area in front or further down the road.

A “village” opposite includes many souvenir shops and bars which are worth a little browse - HOWEVER don’t buy!! You can buy all the same merchandise from the souvenir shops on the next road for half the price!

The pictures of this building are better than the actual site but it is impressive nevertheless. There are many souvenir shops and cafes at the foot of the building that feed off its popularity. A must see in Vienna. Easy to find.

I didn´t even know such a gem was hidden it Vienna! My friend took us there and we loved it. The place is so quirky and colourful! However, beware of the uneven pavement in case it rains, I managed to trip and fall because I was clumsy :D I would like to visit again in better weather, though. Great for all art lovers and out-of-the-box thinkers.

Unique Hundertwasser building, indeed reminds Gaudi architecture. The building located in the nice neighborhood, surrounded by some galerie, cafes and souvenir shops. The building itself is closed for visitors. Nice for a short stop.
