Already have the Eureka edition but glad this getting a stateside release. Great film. I wonder who they’ll get for the commentary.

If it's Imogen Sara Smith then that'll be an instant double dip for me.

I thought the same, unfortunately. But probably for $10 during a Kino sale Troy Howarth also gives a very good commentary.

I know that folks here tend to not like Troy, but I like his gialli/horror/cult film commentaries.....the rest not so much. You can tell with other genres that he's out of his comfort zone making them very basic and by the numbers. I heard two of his commentaries for two noir films from Kino and it was basically just him explaining what a noir film is and giving an overview of the actors filmography. Maybe he has improved a bit and is more prepared, but he should stick to what he knows.

I'm super picky about commentaries, and I'm assuming I listened to the same two, The Suspect and I Walk Alone, and thought he was thorough and nicely analyzed the films and their subtexts.

But I know what you're talking about when I tried watching the commentary for Charley Varrick, the guy spent the first 20 minutes giving us filmographies of cast and crew, and then I had to shut it off...

They set a deal with Sony towards the end of last year.

This is great, I will probably pick it up - hope we see some of these Columbia noirs in the deal - Framed, I Love Trouble, Reckless Moment and Scandal Sheet.
