The recipes work. Nigella writes with flair- encouraging you to try different things within a recipe. Even to ignore some suggestions (using plain flour and faffing with baking powder- when SR works- a lot is about practice and experimenting when you’re out of an ingredient)
This was my starting point on the road to competence as a baker.
Taught me to pay attention to the oven temperature- such an important thing that.
Fab book written with humour. Excellent for a parent wanting ideas on keeping the kids busy and teaching them to bake. My kids and I learned together. Both are competent bakers too. Everyone loves something home baked as a gift.
Don’t hesitate. Buy it.
This is a particularly nice edition (jealous!) which maintains a good level of photography so you can whet your appetite, and I'm looking forward to tasting the results, that I haven't made for a change!
