Summer blockbuster season is upon us. As the world slowly returns to normal, Wizards of the Coast took the opportunity to make some big moves this week with product announcements, trailer reveals and a tie-in release. We’ve collected the best parts into this article.

The Wild Beyond The Witchlight

The next adventure storyline for Dungeons & Dragons is The Wild Beyond The Witchlight. More details will be released at D&D Live on July 16th and 17th, but we know for now that the adventure is connected to the Feywild. It’s a realms of strangeness and chaos where the archfey rule by their own unknowable whim. Anyone expecting a Disney style encounter with these creatures is up for a rude awakening, as the beings of the Feywild connect more closely with the legends of faeries who were often feared by mortals. The book releases on September 21st in regular and collector’s editions.

Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos

Dungeons & Dragons returns to Magic: The Gathering in a big way this year. Not only are Forgotten Realms character appearing in their own card set, but the third full setting book arrives for Dungeons & Dragons on November 16. Strixhaven: Curriculum of Chaos details five schools of magic to explore that world, use for homebrew settings or perhaps even appeal to fans of a certain scholarly wizard fantasy franchise. The book is still in development, and players can check out the current drafts of some player options in the latest Unearthed Arcana.

Dark Alliance Gameplay Trailer

The original Dark Alliance offered a fun balance of fast action and dungeon crawling. The new version, due on on June 22nd, amps up the graphics and leans into the over-the-top elements of many D&D stories in an Icewind Dale adventure. It also features some characters from D&D lore like the infamous Drizzt Do’Urden.

Pride Month Events

With June being Pride month, Dungeons & Dragons renewed its fundraising efforts for The Lambert House, which empowers youth through the development of leadership, social, and life skills by offering over 20 programs, activities, resources, and services on an on-going, year-round basis. Wednesday featured a livestream with Penny Arcade to raise money for The Lambert House. Fans can also purchase pride merchandise here, with all profits going to the fundraising efforts.

International Dungeons & Dragons

Localized editions of the Core rulebooks will be released in September for France, Italy, Germany and Spain. D&D is a worldwide phenomenon and more fans will now get to enjoy it in their native languages. Translated Essentials Kit and Core Gift Sets are also on the way.

Dragon Talk and Dungeon Master Challenge

Dragon Talk, the official D&D podcast, hit 300 episodes on Friday with a specials edition talking about its origins and interviewing of the backstage folks that make it happen.

The Dungeon Master Challenge begins on June 17th with a 72 hour open call to fill 10 slots for the first round of the competition. Each of these contestants will face a design challenge judged by some of the biggest names in D&D with the winner announced at D&D Celebration in September.

Dungeons & Dragons & Monopoly

A copy of this crossover game also arrived this week. While not part of the suite of announcements, it should be noted that it’s a very straightforward adaptation of Monopoly, with properties replaced by famous monsters, and houses replaces by expeditions. It’s a good gift for the Dungeon Master who has everything, or for the person in your life that you want to encourage to dip their tow into the D&D pool (of radiance).
