Over the last few months, Disney+ has announced many J-dramas that will be part of its 2024 roster, one of which is the complicated action thriller – House of the Owl.

What is House of the Owl about?
The story revolves around Ogami Ryutaro (Tanaka Min) aka “The Owl”, a man who controls Japan from within the shadows, and his son Ogami Ryu (Mackenyu), who counters his father as a “dark hero.”
Ogami Ryutaro is a mastermind who solves various scandals and sensational cases by covering them up or preventing them from coming to light. In contrast, Ogami Ryu upholds justice with a worldview very different to his father’s, and he works behind the scenes to correct his father’s actions.
Where Can I Watch House of the Owl Season 1?
House of the Owl is a Disney+ original drama and will be available on the streaming platform in select regions around the world. Expect the show to be released on Disney+ in several Asian countries a few hours after its original release in Japan.

House of the Owl Episodes 1 to 5 Release Date
Episodes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of House of the Owl will be released on Wednesday 24th April at 4:00 pm JST (which is 3:00 am ET / 7:00 am GMT / 12:00 am PT on April 25th).
Expect the show to be broadcast across Disney+ in select regions around the world. Also, do expect the episodes to drop with English subtitles. Each episode will have a runtime of around 45-50 minutes.
How Many Episodes Will House of the Owl Have?
House of the Owl Season 1 is expected to have 10 episodes which is in line with other regular Japanese dramas. With that in mind, the show has 5 episodes remaining to air after the first five are released. As long as the schedule doesn’t change, it should look something like this:

- Episode 7 – May 1st
- Episode 8 – May 8th
- Episode 9 – May 8th

The show stars Tanaka Min as Ogami Ryutaro aka “The Owl” as well as Mackenyu as Ogami Ryu, The Owl’s son. The show will also star Manda Hisako, Ando Masanobu, Hasegawa Kyoko, Nakata Seina, Nakamura Masatoshi, Harada Mieko, Otomo Kohei and Masuoka Tohru in supporting roles respectively.
