Kayla Harrison's highly anticipated UFC debut ends up with her dominating former bantamweight champion and top-5 contender Holly Holm.

Kayla Harrison sent a message in her UFC debut, taking care of former bantamweight champion Holly Holm at UFC 300.

Harrison started to get into a rhythm were striking in the first round when Holm surprised everyone by clinching up with Harrison and reversing the two-time Olympic gold medalist in judo.

But Holm's success was fleeting. Harrison countered and got into top game, laying some hard-hitting ground-and-pound as she tried for a finish.

Harrison got the fight to the ground again in the second and got to Holm's back, locking in a rear-naked choke for the submission victory.

Kayla Harrison Makes Statement In UFC Debut By Submitting Holly Holm

Harrison, who won Olympic gold in 2012 and 2016, made her MMA debut in 2018. Prior to signing with the UFC back in January, Harrison exclusively fought in the PFL, mostly at lightweight.

Harrison won 15 straight fights, winning the 2019 and 2021 PFL women's lightweight titles, before losing the 2022 championship bout to PFL rival Larissa Pacheco.

Prior to tonight, Harrison last fought at the 2023 PFL World Championships, defeating Aspen Ladd.
