Best upscale eatery (part of swank hotel) on Philipsburg boardwalk. Nice views of the water. Nice menu, champagne, comfortable seating, ambiance, etc. makes for an intimate lunch as couple, family or group of friends. Tuna salad, fresh seafood, beef carpaccio, kobe burgers, etc. Definitely worth a visit.

This was our 2nd honeymoon Destination. The hotel is located centrally in Phillipsburg which is the capital of St. Marteen. Everything is at walking distance. It is located on the beach. The staff is very friendly. Loved the rooms and the view. The food too is very good. Even if you are a vegetarian you needn't worry. They have amazing drinks. Their nachos and spring rolls are yummy. Soups too are great in taste. They have very nice breakfast with the view of the beach. If you go to St Marteen probably this is on of the places you must stay. The staff makes you feel very homely with their warmth.

We've never stayed at the hotel, but my partner have been here for drinks several times. They have a stunning outdoor lounge that is right on the boardwalk. It offers good drinks at a reasonable price. If you go just before sundown, it you'll be treated to one of the most beautiful sunsets you'll ever see.

We had a lovely lunch and enjoyed people watching while sitting in comfortable seats ! Had trouble finding a place that didn't have plastic chairs or wooden benches. Food and service were great. Clubhouse sandwich was huge and delicious, but could have done without the egg salad on it that made it very hard to eat

My wife and I stayed here two nights in January. The rooms are very generous sized, very clean and bed was excellent . We had a midnight check in and desk attendant was very polite, as were all the staff for the rest of the visit. The included breakfast buffet and menu selections included everything one could wish for and were very tasty.
The inside and outside lounge areas were attractive and comfortable, as were beach sitting chairs. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Our two-day stay at the Holland House Beach Hotel couldn't have been nicer. Located in the heart of old Philipsburg, the hustle, bustle of Main Street is on one side and the wonderful beach on the other. Charming, efficient front desk staff take care of anything you ask of them and then ask for more! It is easy to stroll along the oceanside, enjoying both the Caribbean and the plentiful shops along the way. There are more luxurious places to stay on this island but none with the easy charm of Holland House.

Love the Holland House. Right on the boardwalk and comfortable seats to have coffee and watch the world go by. Good service as always - a favourite haunt of ours when in Phillpsburg. The restaurant is good too.

As a first time visitor to St Maarten the wife and I could not have made a better choice for a hotel. From our time of arrival to the our day of departure the staff at HHBH were very professional helpful and friendly. Our room was spotless and kept that way throughout our stay. Shout out to Shenika, she made each our visits to the beach and bar truly delightful.

Multiple breakfasts over course of 1 week (Did not stay here). Opens at 7am - unusual, and very welcome. Great service, friendly staff. Good, hotel-oriented buffet and a la carte. Coffee is reasonable, and menu has a lot of choice. Omelettes are their strength, but all common egg dishes are catered for. Relaxing meal, sit outside to watch the sea and the passers by. Recommended.

I contacted a friend at the front desk and she said they'd be happy to store your luggage while you enjoyed the beach. They sell beach setups that include umbrella, lounge chairs with a nice pad, a bucket of beverages, and bathroom access. Plus the food is good and the beach attendant will bring you menus, take orders and deliver food. Very friendly people.

Is the beach prettier here than at the Divi.
Answer from Anita P
1 contribution3 helpful votes
Nope honestly think divi is better but if you have the chance to see another island st Maarten was the worst island of the Caribbean we went to. Depends I guess what you look for but st Maarten beaches are tourist and massive boat American burger places etc. Good luck and have a great holiday

Hello, from the port you can either walk or take taxi boat to the town. Holland House is there, on the beach. you do not need any pass or anything. Just get a beach chair and relax. Beach attendents are there for you to provide drinks and towels. Shower near the bar and enjoy the scenery! And reserve a table for a nice lunch! walk back in the afternoon to your ship. OR alternative take a taxi around the island. But... it is always busy on the island when boats are in port, it all depends what you would like to do. But foremost: ENJOY and relax.

You would need to take a taxi over to see the aircraft come in. That is over on the Simpson Bay side.

We got the day pass from the Hotel by reserving on-line. However, you get there earlier enough (like before 10) you could skip the reservation and just walk up to the hotel for a pass.
