Good. Especially the model. Besides that a little uneven, though very varied. I have found other historic museums more interesting though. Maybe that's because art, which there was more than usual of, never really interested me much. I did enjoy the special exhibition about Frankfurt under Nazi rule, though. I accidentally went on the one day every month when entrance was free so taking that into account it was very good value. :)

    Nothing transcendent
We visited only one part as the museum but we found it out reading the guide book on Frankfurt after the visit. The part visited was disorderly on the first floor with little time consistency. The second floor was mainly about the financial city and the last floor about Frankfurt now from the point of view of its inhabitants. It looks like the organization of the exhibition is done like a modern art museum. I disagree with the 2 stars in the book guide.

Museum with a Broad Range of Exhibits
This is an interesting museum as it not only contains the collections of notable residents of Frankfurt, but it is located in a historic building built on the foundations of an ancient palace. Part of the exhibit was the archaeology of the site which I found very interesting. All exhibits are clearly marked in English.

Nice museum on the history of Frankfurt, lots of objects, there are also some interactive things. The museum is located in the heart of the city.

I loved this museum. There are so many different things to see, the architecture inside is amazing and there are tons of child-centric exhibitions. We were lucky enough to visit on the last Saturday of the month so it was free. We did get a bit lost as the layout is a bit strange but we did eventually see everything. My favourite part was that through out the museum they have social commentary on different pieces which puts it into context. The map they created of Frankfurt on the top floor is amazing and also hilarious!

Mainly a collection of collections (by residents of Frankfurt). It is not very interesting and suffers from a lack of explanation.

Very interesting, extensive museum. Excellent signage and English translations, which were extremely helpful. I’m a keen history buff but usually find city and local museums a bit inward looking. Not the case here: the museum offers fascinating insights not only into the evolution of Frankfurt but also into its development as a financial powerhouse for Germany and Europe. Highly recommended.

Great museum! It’s small but has a lot of character and all the information you need about the history of the city. You can see it all in about two hours, so it’s not overwhelming but you still have enjoyed and learn a bit.

This museum offers a very nice insight into the city's century long history. It also displays the oldest copy of the Imperial Crown of the Holy Roman Empire.

Pretty good museum about history of the city and area. We found on the other hand great exhibitions a bit frustrating to follow and incoherent. A lot of paintings eg. without who and when painted it. Not even a century to follow. But a lot of doing and great miniatures etc. Great place in a rainy day.
