What travelers are saying
- Marina CMainz, Germany19 contributionsMagical day ended with rude customer service at the souvenir shop:
After a private group tour, lunch at the museum restaurant, and solo wandering, I was so excited about some of the art that I decided to buy some souvenirs at the museum shop. I was buying 9 paper items (not postcards) on a very rainy day. I inquired if the shop has plastic bags and, when I saw the bags had the museum name, I briefly considered giving my friends the items in these bags as well.
One of the shop clerks was suspicious and unfriendly from the start, questioning me rather unpleasantly and, in the end, pushing/throwing 3 bags, that I paid a euro per bag for, toward me, displeased and annoyed, ignoring my warm „Danke“.
Germany is doing an amazing job of valuing art, yet it cannot stop its rude customer service problem. I am writing in hope that the museum administration might read and care to provide a more pleasant customer experience.Written April 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Several dinosaurs, some of which are original and some are casts. If you can get on a tour, it is definitely worth it.Written February 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kevin PTempe, AZ415 contributionsThis is a pleasant riverwalk lined with stately museums. You could easily spend a day visiting them all.Written November 26, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- wingateLondon, UK2,600 contributionsThe first floor deals with film up till the time when the Lumieres started making film.So much is familiar.
The second floor exhibits are more to do with filmaking, film stars, photography editing make up etc.Although I have seen much of this in Berlin and Paris it is nevertheless well done.Written April 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Both of them were a bit hesitant as they were worried it would be very abstract, arty or unengaging - they'd usually prefer cycling or a beer in Frankfurt.
We all came away from the experience completely moved, chattering about the difficulties of blindnesss, and very very glad to have gone to the Dialogmuseum. I would highly recommend this to any age group - whether its a teenager, or dad or grandparent.
The experience was insightful, made you self-reflect and is something I feel everyone ought to do at least once. If you don't do this while in Frankfurt, you're most definitely missing out.Written August 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - hhsolIdstein, Germany1,303 contributionsVery nice, interactive museum, we spent over 2 hours inside, everything is in German and English, and it’s free! I felt it could be better in some of the topics, but I think it would probably be interesting for anyone as it is.Written December 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jordanellie41Longridge, UK1,055 contributionsThis building sits on the other side of the river from the city centre along the embankment. It's set in a beautiful idyllic square garden that has an outside seating area for it's cafe. The front has a sublime clock tower with the face in blue and claret with the clock itself in gold leaf. To it's side there's some wonderful architecture on it's white stone including a pretty balcony. It's roof is black slate and overall has a slight resemblance of a castle. There's a small part of it at the front that's currently under tarpauline but this doesn't spoil any views or photo shots.Written October 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cme1234Singapore, Singapore1,025 contributionsThis is just a house which has been converted into a museum. It is conveniently located in Hauptwache.
This shows how Goethe lived. This is not for everyone. Unless you are into how Goethe lived, this is something you need not add to your list.Written June 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I was so familiar with the exhibits including a German version of a hagadah I had in my hands at our Seder.y visit was slightly marred by an over solicitous attendant .Written April 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
