I fondly recall watching this as a tween in the early 1980s and was wishing it would be on DVD someday! I love animal television and this is a fine successor to Lassie and Benji. If you like shows with an animal lead, you will love Boomer. I always thought he was an angel going from place to place helping people. I am not so much a fan of when they have someone voicing his thoughts -- I didn't recall that being a big part of the series when I was younger, but it seems to be part of it now. Also there are so many guest stars, you can't help but be impressed. It's cute, fun, and a great reminder of days gone by.

I was glad to find this series on DVD. I remember watching it when I was a kid, and I loved Boomer The Dog! The quality is pretty good for the show being the age it is. Most of the episodes looked and sounded good on this set. A few minor imperfections in the picture just here and there. It's nice they finally put this show out on DVD. I don't remember ever seeing it air in reruns anywhere over the years.
