Henry Huth Obituary

Henry Clay Huth, Jr.
August 24, 2022
Henry Clay Huth, Jr. passed away on August 24, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Cambridge, Ohio, on April 28, 1957, he was the son of the late Henry Clay Huth and Alison Schultz Huth.
Known as Hank, he grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, Saratoga, California, and Elkhart, Indiana. He graduated from Albion College in 1979 with a degree in accounting. He was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity where he made life-long friends. Hank started his career at Peat Marwick in Detroit, Michigan. He moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he was a manager in the tax division at Arthur Andersen. He met Boo, his wife of 39 years, in Chicago. They moved to Darien and then Riverside, Connecticut, where Hank became involved in many franchises, including Blockbuster Video, Boston Market, Einstein Brothers Bagels, Palm Beach Tan, and Dunkin' Donuts. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, skiing, fishing, skeet shooting and golfing. He loved country music, was an extremely good dancer, couldn't sing a note, was a connoisseur of fine wines. He had a terrific sense of humor and a laugh that was infectious. He was a member of the Greenwich Country Club, Riverside Yacht Club, the Gasparilla Inn Beach Club and Old Sandwich Golf Club. He loved the beach, whether it be on Martha's Vineyard or Boca Grande, where he collected shark's teeth and wampum shells. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife Barbara "Boo" King Huth, and his children Halsey Huth, Abby Huth Donohue, Phebe Huth, Brecky Huth and his son-in-law Peter Donohue. He is survived by his siblings Paul Huth and Krystol, Cami Huth O'Herren and her husband Greg, and Zach Huth; his mother-in-law Barbara B. King; and his sister and brother-in-law Muffy and Andy Fox. His father-in-law William A. King predeceased him. He had twelve nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Riverside Yacht Club on September 16, 2022, at 4 p.m. Please dress brightly. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Hank Huth Albion College Sigma Chi Scholarship Fund or the Fisher House Foundation in his name.

Paul, Cami, and Zach,
We are sorry to hear of the passing of Hank and offer condolences to his family. Our memories of 20 years on Crabtree Lane are still dear to us since our move to Lake Oconee GA in 1998 and now to Charlotte NC near both Tom and Will. The Huth family was so much a part of our time in Elkhart and we will remember all of you as you live on with your wonderful memories of your family years together.

My condolences to Boo, Abby, Halsey, Phebe, and Brecky. Hank will be truly missed. He was a wonderfully kind man. I was fortunate to know Hank and the Huth family at an impressionable age. They were and are a wonderful example of a kind and loving family. All my love Hank.

Hank was a year younger, his brother Paul, a year older. His dad was a twin, and he and his wife were dear friends, neighbors, and bridge club buddies of my parents in East Lake Estates growing up. I was thankful to reconnect through Facebook many years ago, and shocked and saddened to learn of Hank´s rather fast course with cancer. God has gotten another good one before we on earth we´re ready to give him up. My love to Hank's brothers and sister, his wife Boo, their children and the whole "fandamily" as my dad, Bill Batten would say. Prayers and virtual hugs to all.
