Charlotte, North Carolina - Beverly King Shaver died peacefully on April 21 surrounded by her family. She was 91 years old. Beverly was born in Little Silver, New Jersey on November 21, 1932, and lived her adult life in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is predeceased by her parents Raymond and Helen King, brother Robert, and husband Dr. Edward Franklin Shaver Jr.
Beverly was a member of Myers Park Presbyterian Church, the Charlotte Country Club, the Charlotte Debutante Club, the National Society of the Colonial Dames and the Merri-Mints Garden Club. She is survived by her children Read Carson Van de Water (Mark), Christy Carson Evans (Bruce), Page Carson Rogers (Rick), Edward Franklin Shaver III, Bradley O'Neal Shaver (Ashley), and James Weston Shaver (Amanda); her many grandchildren; and her faithful Jack Russell terrier, Thatcher.
Beverly was an aficionado of horses and a lifelong lover of all animals. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Charlotte. Her memorial service will be held at Myers Park Presbyterian Church in her hometown of Charlotte.
