Captain Carter’s next MCU appearances allegedly revealed

Spread MCU News

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe haven’t seen the last of Captain Peggy Carter and her various incarnations. Captain Carter will appear in What If… Season 3 and Avengers: Secret Wars, as reported by insiders. With Secret Wars likely to bring together characters from throughout the MCU Multiverse for one epic fight, it’s understandable that Marvel Studios would want the film to incorporate Captain Carter, who has become one of the franchise’s most popular versions. Captain Carter is a version of Peggy Carter who used the super soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers. Hayley Atwell reprises her role as Captain Carter from prior MCU productions, having starred in several episodes of the Disney+ animated series What If…? across the first two seasons. In the live-action film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), Atwell played a new Captain Carter version, who was from Earth-838 and a member of the Illuminati. Fans should not anticipate this version of Captain Carter to emerge in Secret Wars, as Multiverse of Madness portrayed the character’s horrible demise at the hands of the Scarlet Witch.

Eddie Brock/Venom, played by Tom Hardy, is another multiverse figure that will supposedly appear in Avengers: Secret War. According to trusted source Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is open to having Hardy reprise his role as Venom in the next crossover film, which is expected to reintroduce non-MCU superheroes such as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Tobey Maguire’s Spiderman. Hardy previously appeared as Eddie Brock in the post-credits sequence in the MCU film Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), but he did not interact with any other superheroes. Avengers: Secret Wars was revealed at the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con, and it is intended to be a direct sequel to the untitled Avengers 5. While storyline specifics are unknown, Marvel Studios has teased the next crossover event, notably in Multiverse of Madness, which mentions “incursion,” a phrase borrowed from the 2015 Secret Wars comic book event that refers to two universes ready to meet. No Way Home and The Marvels, as well as the Disney+ series Loki, have already explored the MCU Multiverse, with the next film Deadpool & Wolverine supposedly laying even more groundwork for Secret Wars.
