It's torture.
Letting go didn't mean Hope and Josie didn't care or love each other anymore. It just meant they had to realize the only thing more impossible than staying was leaving.
The sequel with a more serious and romantic undertone. Still sneaking in smut whenever I can, though.

An intense moan came out of pouty lips as the pain got confused with pleasure, and before Josie realized she had her head moved to the side to accommodate the apex predator lying atop her.
Butterflies erupt in Josie's stomach, her mind blank except for Hope's mouth. How soft her lips are, how they feel so perfect against her vulnerable flesh.
"Fuck..." Josie grunts, hating herself a little more, if that was even possible.
There was no way she should be enjoying this. It has to be all the adrenaline from her fight with Hope. That's what she is going to blame this on. She's an adrenaline junkie, becoming reckless whenever it fills Josie. Pain release, pleasure.
That had to be the only fucking explanation because the alternative was too fucking mortifying to imagine.
