The Greek Armed Forces and the US "Aircraft Aircraft Impact Force" (CSG-8) took place in the wider sea area of Crete on December 29, 2021 as well as on 4 and 5 January 2022.
The Greek participation included the ELLI Frigate, the LASKOS Rapid Patrol Missile, the KATSONIS submarine and F-4 and F-16 fighter jets.
From the US was the USS HARRY S. TRUMAN aircraft carrier, the USS BAINBRIDGE, USS GRAVELY, USS ROSS, USS ROOSEVELT destroyers, the Norwegian HNoMS FRIDTJOF NANSEN frigate and an F-18 Fighter Aircraft.
It is also noted that from the afternoon of January 4 until the morning hours of January 5, the ELLI frigate joined the USS HARRY S. TRUMAN.
During the joint trainings, advanced maneuvers of air defence, anti-submarine warfare and surface warfare were carried out.
These trainings took place in the framework of the updated Greek-American Agreement in a bilateral and allied context.
