1f) George Ferrers, 3rd Marquess Townshend, etc (13 Dec 1778-6 Jan 1869); m.12 May 1807 Sarah Dunn-Gardner (d.11 Sep 1858); he was disinherited by his father and spent most of his life abroad; his wife left him shortly after marriage, and proceeded to have numerous children with another man, at least the eldest of whom for a while used names and titles as if he were the Marquess’s son, but an Act of Parliament in 1842-3 declared that they were not the Marquess’s children
