John Boyle, 5th Earl of Cork m.(1) Lady Henrietta Hamilton, daughter of Field Marshal George Hamilton, 1st Earl of Orkney and Elizabeth Villiers, on 9 May 1728 at Albemarle Street, London, England, (2) Margaret Hamilton, daughter of John Hamilton and Lucy Dopping, on 30 June 1738 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland. He was buried at St. John's Church, Frome, Somerset, England. His will was proven (by probate) on 14 December 1762.
He succeeded his father as 5th Earl of Orrery, including the subsidiary titles 2nd Baron Boyle of Marston, and 5th Lord Boyle on 28 August 1731. He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 25 August 1743 with a Master of Arts (M.A.). He succeeded his cousin 5th Earl of the County of Cork including its subsidiary titles Viscount Boyle, Viscount of Dungarvan, Baron of Bandon Bridge and Lord Boyle in the Peerage of Ireland on 3 December 1753.
