From the School

Gulliver Preparatory School is Miami’s school of choice for challenging, innovative, and personalized learning designed to meet the needs of a diverse and dynamic world. We are a school of innovation and transformation, and we provide each and every student with unparalleled opportunities to explore and experiment.

Founded in 1926 by Arthur Gulliver and transformed under the visionary leadership of Marian C. Krutulis in the second half of the 20th century, Gulliver Prep has been a leading school of distinction for nearly 100 years. To this day, our mission remains unchanged: to create an academic community devoted to educational excellence, with a personal touch, that fulfills each student's potential. We are a family for the whole family, and we celebrate our global community.

At Gulliver Prep we accept the challenge to think boldly and to pursue excellence tirelessly. In doing so, we encourage our students to know no limits.

Primary and Lower School (PK3-Grade 4) nurtures students’ innate abilities through hands-on experiences, and developmentally-appropriate practices. Throughout the years, students develop their social-emotional and academic skills through direct instruction and thoughtful practice.

Middle School (Grades 5-8) champions challenging, innovative, and personalized learning designed to meet the needs of a diverse and dynamic world.

Upper School at Gulliver Prep (Grades 9-12) is a time of expansive exploration, deep nurturing, bold empowerment, powerful personalization, pioneering entrepreneurship, and intellectual discovery. Students thrive in an environment where creative expression and problem solving are paramount, and unique talents and skills are nurtured.

Our innovative curriculum provides broad exposure in all disciplines and presents students with opportunities to explore and develop their areas of interest. We offer six multi-year Signature Academic Programs: architecture, biomedical sciences, digital mass media, engineering, international business and entrepreneurship, and international diplomacy and legal studies.

All of our Signature Academic Programs are designed to go beyond the traditional classroom and give students real, hands-on, unmatched experiences. That’s just one step they take into a bigger, more beautiful world, and it starts right here in a Gulliver classroom.

Gulliver Prep has been an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School since 1996 and was the first independent school in South Florida authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme (DP). Students from all over the world - Peru, England, Spain, Egypt, Norway, Argentina - come to Gulliver Prep for the IB Programme. They stay because they find a real, true family of teachers, friends, mentors, and champions.

From soccer and tennis to sailing and lacrosse, Gulliver features more than 90 athletic teams - a multitude of options for every season. Holding over 60 state championships and more than 335 district and 90 regional championships, Gulliver has been named Overall Best Sports Program in its division by The Miami Herald for five straight years and 21 times overall. While we do take pride in our winning tradition and competitive spirit, our true measure of success has always been in teaching the values of teamwork and sportsmanship. Our number one goal on the field, in the pool, and on the court is to play with great heart.

Gulliver students are prepared to thrive both in their careers and in our complex world, regardless of the path they choose to pursue. Our students matriculate to a wide range of colleges and universities, and will attend some of the most academically challenging and prestigious schools across the country – and the globe. Whether their interests lie in engineering, architecture, music, or business, our students discover their passions and chart their own paths, taking them well into the future.

There’s only one Gulliver Prep in the whole world. And that’s by design. Come see for yourself what makes Gulliver Prep a school unlike any other. In other words, unparalleled.
