As a future nursing student headed to college, Grand Blanc High School has a strong academic foundation with a focus on science and healthcare-related courses. I was able to participate in extracurricular activities like volunteering at hospitals or clinics, joining health-related clubs or organizations, and perhaps even shadowing healthcare professionals to gain firsthand experience. Attending this high school has also allowed me to build strong relationships with teachers who can write strong letters of recommendation for beneficial college applications. Additionally, maintaining a healthy balance between academics, extracurriculars, and personal interests, as well as taking care of one's physical and mental well-being, has been fulfilling at Grand Blanc High School.
During my time enrolled as a student at Grand Blanc High School, I've been able to recieve a quality education, meet wonderful people, and overall grow as a person; figuring out what I want to achieve in life. Although it took me a while to adapt to the school, once I did I found almost each day enjoyable because of the variety of classes available and the teachers who encouraged out of the box thinking. My one complaint I've had this whole time is the crossing path, where students have to walk between the two school buildings to get to class. Most of the time these walks are enjoyable and it's nice to be outside, but times when the weather is not so kind can be a disturbance in my otherwise great day.
My memories of the 4 years that I spent at Grand Blanc High School are honestly a blur, but there are some key moments that I remember that take me back to the nostalgia, cringe worthiness, and laughable times that I had shared with others at the school. Even though it wasn't the best when it came to certain things like micro aggressions or discrimination, but it was definitely a place that was quite eventful and would make you rethink your life. I do sometimes miss the times when I would hang out with my friends at lunch or mess around when the teacher we all collectively dislike is out of the room, I find myself reminiscing over old photos and videos from high school that really make me laugh at the past. It's a place that needs a little...okay a lot of work but it is definitely a place where you'll make a lot of memories to make up for it and even miss it just a little bit.
