Florida's Homecoming: Part 4 (a.k.a. "United We Stand") is the fourth episode of Season 6 of Good Times, and also the 113th episode overall; it is the final part of a four-episode story arc. Written by Joseph Bonaduce and Bruce Howard as a teleplay developed from an original story written by Norman Paul, the episode, which was directed by Gerren Keith, premiered on CBS-TV, first airing on September 30, 1978.
Synopsis[]
Keith's broken leg causes him to lose his million dollar football contract. As a result, Thelma and Keith must live in the Evans' apartment. And J.J. is faced with a dilemma when Sweet Daddy Williams comes to collect on his loan.
Storyline[]
After a joyous wedding ceremony, things are anything but happy. Thelma and Keith cannot go on a honeymoon because Keith's leg is broken and it may end his sports career. Also, the loan sharks come to visit to get their money back.
Plot summary[]
In the concluding episode of Good Times' three-part sixth season opener, Keith Anderson (Ben Powers), the new husband of Thelma Evans (BernNadette Stanis), has broken his knee just after the wedding ceremony. Before the disaster occurred, Heisman-winning football player Keith was on the verge of signing a huge contract with the Chicago Bears. But now his pro football career is over before it begins, and Keith is stuck in the ghetto with the Evans family. Worse yet: Local loan shark Sweet Daddy (Teddy Wilson) demands payment on the loan taken out by Thelma's brother J.J. (Jimmie Walker) to finance the wedding
