Enjoyed our time dry camping in RVs. Bad wind storms come through so be prepared with shelter - sometimes for a whole day and night and i'm not sure a tent would cut it. Even in our RV the sand blew in. Really beautiful and if you stay there for an extended period there is a truck that comes round that will refill your water (for $1 per gallon) and empty your poop and grey water (not sure on cost). Pretty loud at night if you have young kids, people drive late at night and party with music because it's really hot during the day.
The worst part was we got fuel there for our UTVs and it blew up an engine. Shop we use a lot to work on our engines took it apart and showed it was bad fuel. So don't buy fuel from there!!!! Best to take your own fuel.

My family and friends have been going to Glamis since the 70's
A great vacation spot for camping & riding the dunes.
Try it if you want a great time.
Remember, a seasonal location. Best times to go Halloween through spring break.
Plan to camp for days for an awesome time!

If your into off road riding this is the spot to go to. This place is AMAZING!! This is my 3rd year here and I cannot wait to go back. We go out to Glamis every presidents week and rent an RV from rvrentaloutlet.com and have our Polaris rzr shipped out and can say this is hands down by far the BEST PLACE EVER!!! Riding is such an adrenaline rush. We stay on Gecko road pad 2 usually only draw back is that it's a ride away from vendors row where they have a beach store and clothing food and machine vendors. There is a small area as you turn onto Gecko road where you can get food and service parts for your machines. It's an easier ride to the Duners Diner in Yuma. If you love the sun sand and being on your machine as much as I do then you MUST GO!! And see for yourself Google Glamis and you can read all about it. A big favorite of everyone is China Wall and Oldsmobile Hill. They have the turkey races where anyone can compete and run your machine down the center of a flat area of the dunes a lot of fun to watch and see all the different machines there. Also there is a cost you must by passes for your RV and Machine it's a requirement. They have Rangers there for everyone's safety. Happy Duning all!!! 😀

Glamis is wonderful, but there’s a helicopter that flys over the dunes who starts out from Boardmanville Trading Post, which is on the other side of the railroad tracks The pilot spoke with us at the bar saying the flight was around 20 mins per my husbands memory and only $60. Per person was mentioned. After I got home, I found my credit card had been charged $244.00 for two people. According to the pilot, he told us over and over that the price was $120.00 each which he never mentioned the price was doubled. When I insisted that he did not, he basically called me a liar. The flight was fun but not worth $120.00. Beware. Glamis on the other hand is well worth the dining experience

The Glamis Sand dunes is an awesome vacation for familys with or without kids, or young adults out on their own. I have been visiting these specific dunes since i was two monrths old and every year since then have returned at least once.

For a family trip you sould go on an off season, this means when its not a thee/four day weekend or a holiday... because there will be a large amount of parties, and is unsafe fir the young kids, becaus people are reckless. it is also loud and very fast paced...

But if you are looking for a party spot, go for it..

I have been to Glamis for both numerous times and enjoy them equally, the dunes shold be recognized as a natural beauty as well as a great spot to ride your sand toys... but if you go i ask that you respect the dunes and leave them cleaner than when you came... Thank you

We came to glamis for some atv riding and dirt bike riding. It was everything you here about lots of dunes to ride and plenty of terrain to cover. It being March it was off season and not many people were there. Which we thought was great we pretty much had the dunes to ourselves. The down side to that is pretty much everything is closed at the dunes except for a little store at the top of gecko road. Facilities were clean and very well kept. Take lots of water the heat is intense. Brawley is 20 minutes from you with a large grocery store, eateries and a couple of hotels.

Absolutely astonishing to see - we wondered what the strange colour on the horizon was and as we drew nearer we could see it was sand dunes.
It is a strange feeling driving through these.
Take extreme caution if you have to drive through and sand onthe road - we got stuck and had to be pushed out.

What can i say, Glamis is one of my favorite places on earth, the beauty and simplicity of the desert is beyond compare . . . but it is not for everyone. To have the best trip possible, you need to be prepared that you are going to be in the middle of the desert, that means that you must pack in what you need and want and pack out everything as well (there are porta poties there as well as a store and some vendors for food if you need it). Best to have an ATV of some sort to enjoy the dunes. they do rent them there if you need one. and they also do rent & deliver an RV if you need one as well. What can i say i just love this place
