When Gilbert Marshal Earl of Pembroke was born about 1207, his father, William Marshal Earl of Pembroke, was 62 and his mother, Isabel de Clare Countess of Pembroke, was 36. He married Marjory of Scotland on 1 August 1235, in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, England. He died on 27 June 1241, in Ware, Hertfordshire, England, at the age of 35, and was buried in London The Temple, Middlesex, England.
