"Get a Job" is a hilarious award-winning feature film comedy produced in the islands, by islanders. To save his own job, employment agent William (Willie K) must get a job for Merton (Eric Gilliom), a lovable, bumbling man-child who surfs every day in a place where there are no waves. Meanwhile William's long-time girlfriend Laura (Carolyn Omine) cooks up a half-baked scheme to drag her man to the altar. Fueling the fun is a colorful cast that includes some of Hawaii's favorite entertainers including a traffic cop (Augie T), a tourist (Jake Shimabukuro), an unemployed musician (Mick Fleetwood), plus Henry Kapono, Amy Hanaiali'i and a cameo by Willie Nelson. Great tropical soundtrack by the Barefoot Natives. 16 x 9 Widescreen format - 90 minutes - Unrated - Stereo

If only the music wasn't so weird and goes on and on when it doesn't much fit the action, this would be a really fun movie. Who doesn't love Willie K? (I almost believed him, even in a tie.) And Eric is really good, and he's funny. The movie's occasionally funny, fun all the time. Cute movie. If you're at all interested, you should have it in your Hawaiian collection. Made on Maui.

Pretty funny but kind of goofy.

I lived on Maui for 16 years - this is DA BOMB! It IS Maui. If you are thinking of moving to the island, you MUST see this. If you laugh, move there! If you are bewildered, stay on the mainland.

Very humorous with great Hawaiian music too, lots of surprising cameo performances by older rock stars who live on Maui. Credit should also mention the amazing Uncle Willie K......the very best contemporary Hawaiian musician

Only bought this because Henry Kapono is in it. He was only in it the last 5 minutes. Movie was rather stupid though, not that funny.
