GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) – So what is the best way to watch a movie during COVID-19?

Movie theatre, at home, how about a drive-in movie theatre?

Well now, everyone has the option to watch some classic movies from the comfort of their car at a local venue.

Starting at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, viewers can watch classic movies at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center.

Organizers provided these details about the drive-in experience:

Massive screens will be set up in different parking lots at Lamar-Dixon, and sound can be
tuned in on car radios. Tickets must be purchased online ahead of time, and parking will be
assigned on arrival. Concessions can be ordered by downloading the food app.

If all of that sounds good to you, these are some of the movies and games you can catch in the near future:

Wednesday, October 21:

  • Hotel Transylvania
  • Addams Family Values
  • Original Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Saturday, October 24:

  • LSU football game against South Carolina

Saturday, October 31:

  • LSU football game against Auburn

The Lamar-Dixon Expo Center is working with Movies on the Mississippi to make this experience happen for the public.

Organizers say, “social distancing must be practiced at all times when in the proximity of people outside of your party.”
