Their marriage produced 12 children, including the 1st and last Baron Lanerton; Harriet, Duchess of Sutherland; Blanche, Countess of Burlington; Georgiana, Lady Dover; and Mary, Lady Taunton.
He was succeeded by his eldest son George.
